My yoga teacher reminds me that when I get busy, I only breathe with half of my lungs.
But when I can deepen my breath, I instantly feel more ease.
It’s amazing really! So simple. But I forget.
The breath is a tool we carry with us all the time.
We don’t need money or a studio.
It doesn’t require fancy postures or props.
All we need is ourselves
Our beating heart
And the air around us.
So in that spirit, I invite you to take a deep breath, friend.
Close your eyes and breathe in— all the way to the bottom of your lungs.
Hold it in for a few counts if it feels comfortable.
And let all of the air out again— until every last sip of air is gone.
And then repeat for another breath (or two or three…).
There’s peace— yes— even here.
Even in my messy house
With work undone
Even in the tumult of big emotions
Even in a complex world.
There’s rest—yes— especially right here.

Rhonda Linn
PS. Have an amazing day. Carve out some time to breathe. I’d love to hear how it goes. ❤
